Year 5 Camp

WHAT!

Last week the year 5's went to Wood end Christian Camp and we had so much fun.




SO WHAT!

we did free time and activities like Archery, Air rifles, Climbing wall, Water slides, Team building , , ,Orienteering,Trampolines, Mini golf and volleyball. We had nachos for dinner, Ice cream with brownies and Hamburgers for lunch.

Literacy Week

WHAT?

This week was literacy week, we got to do activites like Stop drop and write and Stop drop, read,  dress up day, Soraya Nichols, Golden ticket, guess the teacher and guess the book.





SO WHAT?

What I most enjoyed about literacy week was the Stop Drop and Read

Kauri Athletics

                               

 What?

On Wednesday we did the kauri athletics and there were events like Discus, High jump, Sprints, Shot putt and Long jump :)





                                    

  So What?         

We didn't get to finish the athletics so we are going to finish the athletics on Tuesday next week :)

                                      

                                

     NOW WHAT?

                         Now i'm looking forward to doing kauri athletics continues.

Design

WALT: make a design for our new future school.


WHAT?

SO WHAT?
so we need to choose out of three ruff drawings and rate it and when you do that will be your winner.


NOW WHAT?
now we have to make the design.

easttle reading

WALT: Pass our learning test's.






WHAT?
This term we did a easttle reading test and every one had a level 4 reading test or a level 3 reading test. And every one had different amount of questions in there tests.






SO WHAT?
So now whenever I do a reading test I'll try to get them right.




Swimming

WALT: I am learning to develop my swimming skills.




WHAT?
I have been learning to swim at starfish swim school. And I learned how to do Freestyle, Butterfly kick, backstroke, breath stroke, side breath stroke and survival




SO WHAT?
I want to improve on my survival backstroke. Because when I kick the teacher says that I need to do big a kick.




NOW WHAT?
Now it's time for me to take a big step and focus on my goal.


Art

                                            what?

We have been learning to do some art on the 8 habitats which are wetlands,dry land,esturies,alpine,marine,offshore islands.               



                                        So what?

My whole class gets A4 paper and pants a backround. Then we get some coloured card to make our three animals for our art.


                                      Now what?

now we finished it. Now we can take a photo of it.

WHAT?
This week I am reflecting on one of my writing goals


IALT: Improve my writing by learning how to:


* use a variety of sentence starters


This week I have been focusing on how to write a drop-in clause


SO WHAT?
Here is an example of a drop-in clause


Mr Forman is our teacher.
He loves his red car.
Mr Forman, who is our teacher, loves his red car.


Mr Forman is the subject of the sentence.
We change ‘He’ to ‘who’
We place commas around the clause we ‘drop-in’


MY EXAMPLES:
Here are two examples of a drop-in clause that I have created.
[1] the venomous spider,who had bulging biceps and a hairy chest,scuttled across supermarket.
[2] the dinosaur,who was wearing a nappy,was chasing a boy.


NOW WHAT?

My confidence level with using these types of sentences independently in my writing is

My writing goals for term 2

Life education caravan

WHAT?
We were learning about songs that are about sugar,salt,fat.


SO WHAT?
One song go's
 lots of food from the ground x2
lots of food from the animals x2
lots of ingredients from food x1


NOW WHAT?
I hope we learn some more healthy food songs.

Term 1 highlights 2016

WHAT?
we have been learning about healthy food,fibre and much more


SO WHAT
there are many different kinds of food groups like


  • fruit and vegetables
  • meat 
  • savouries
  • wheat/wholemeal/grain
  • sweets/treats/candy
  • dairy products
  • water
  • sauce
  • produced food
NOW WHAT?
Now we have to make sure we check the sugar and fat before we eat our food.
WHAT?

Last week was multi cultural week and I was doing the Samoan flag to represent me and my culture and family.


SO WHAT?

We learned how to play cultural games,languages and facts in one of the games I't was really hard you had to throw pipes in the hole.


NOW WHAT?

at the end we got a fruit burst each I't was a fantastic day and I loved I't I wish we could do I't all the time.
